Branding & Corporate Identity

A collection of Corporate Identity works I’ve designed from beginning to end.

PRIMARY ROLES:

Lead Graphic Designer and Web Developer

About

Here is a collection of past works from various companies throughout the Bay Area. I was primarily the Lead Graphic Designer for redesigning their Corporate Identity and various company collateral and assets.

Hifn Intelligent Secure Networking

With this project, I was the lead designer in helping to rebrand the Hifn logo and overall Corporate Identity. Hifn was a semi-conductor company located in Los Gatos with office locations across the globe. Working through a small creative firm in Santa Clara, I met with the executive team at Hifn to conduct research, collect information, produce a creative brief, and plan a timeline for executing this overall project.

Responsibility

As the Senior Designer at a small creative firm, I led the design efforts to produce a complete Corporate Branding package for Hifn.

Deliverables

The package included a variety of printed collaterals, including marketing items such as a CD with a tailored jacket that required a custom die-cut. I was also responsible for producing assets for their website.

Outcomes

As a result of the rebranding efforts, their marketing department had fresh new material that enabled them to hand off polished and professional material to their clients.

Ranger Construction, Inc.

Located in Santa Clara county, Ranger is a trusted construction company that continues to provide design/build services and a wide range of other construction services. The goal of this project was to create a lasting brand identity that is professional and conveys the company’s qualities.

Responsibility

One of the initiatives I needed to incorporate was the “Green” technology message. So many of the visual elements I used were required to convey this thought and message. I worked primarily as a contract designer helping to produce most of their marketing and advertising materials and redesign their website and corporate identity.

Deliverables

My works included a complete identity redesign with a logo and matching company stationery. Additionally, I designed advertising material and a fully redesigned website. I met directly with the CEO to complete and ensure approval of all of the work.

Outcomes

During my time with Ranger, we had a lot of activity in marketing requests, indicating that business was going well. And we could see that the efforts of Green technology messaging worked well during a time when going Green was essential.

Branding and Identity

I created several versions of the Ranger logo running through several iterations. Previously it started as a reasonably rudimentary logo with just text. I designed a logo icon and used a font that had serifs, almost mimicking a drafting look and feel. This was the overall theme for the identity. I created two versions for the finalized logo so the company can use the logo within a suitable product format—vertical or horizontal. Overall, the new identity received much positive feedback.

Advertisements

Represented here are advertisements I designed for the San Jose Business Journal. Working with the advertising agent at SJBJ, I coordinated with them to ensure the specs were exact and in the proper format for deliverables. I was the only designer working on producing much of the marketing ads and materials and making the final decisions for the design aesthetics while seeking final approvals from the client. The client was pleased with the work, and as a result, the company could use the refreshed material confidently. Ultimately, the rebranding efforts with new material helped gain new customers by providing them the information and professional service they needed.

Marketing Collateral

These white paper sell sheets were used to gain potential clients and for marketing distribution. There were a total of 8 different sheets with a complimenting Presentation folder. I worked directly with Ranger’s printing vendor to produce these materials, overseeing the quality of the final product. I also designed and custom-coded their entire website from the ground up into the company’s existing website platform. Since I was functioning as a graphic designer, I was not accustomed to user experience methodologies at the time. However, I did a lot of research and gathered vital information to put the site together. The site was primarily used as a marketing selling point and needed to match the rest of the company’s new look and feel.

Mechanical Technologies Corp.

MTECH Corporation is a sister company of Ranger Construction. In addition to providing a completely redesigned company identity for Ranger, I was also in charge of redesigning the identity for MTECH.

Responsibility

In addition to being the lead designer for Ranger Construction, I was also the lead designer for providing marketing material and website updates.

Deliverables

My works included a complete identity redesign with a logo and matching company stationery. Additionally, I designed advertising material, graphics for their utility vans, and concepts for an entirely redesigned website.

Outcomes

Since MTECH already had a website, I mainly provided the identity assets. Throughout the years, MTech continued to deliver solid service utilizing a solid Corporate Identity.

Business Logo Identity and Stationary

Initially, I created versions of the MTECH website, which eventually evolved to more conservative and updated structures utilizing web templates. The redesigned logo served the company throughout the years as a solid identity seen in much of their current collateral and online presence.

The green message also needed to be conveyed in MTECH’s marketing strategy since much of the installations would support the future of Green building initiatives. In addition to the Ranger advertising, I repurposed some of the collateral and assets between the two companies, which worked quite well.

Westside Transportation Alliance

Donated works. Although they eventually changed, it served as a base to establish this organization in December 2009. As the organization became well established, it inevitably changed its branding entirely. But the initial logo helped to set the tone for a solid establishment. Initially, the client was pleased with the logo design, and it was used on many collateral pieces, signage, advertising, and social networking sites.
